About

iOS developer, Software engineer, Graphic designer

Hey there! I’m Jack Chen; I write code. Having been an artist growing up, I’ve managed to find the sweet spot where art and code intertwine which happens to be in iOS development. You can checkout my work over at my Github page. My design portfolio can be found here! The link to my blog is here.

My Projects

Here is the stuff that I've been working on lately:

Tapstr1: The Legend Awakens(iOS)

Tapstr is an 8-bit indie game inspired by the game Twister. The player defuses bombs by holding down on bombs while pressing down on new bombs that spawn. Available on the AppStore.

Tapstr2: Swole Uprising(iOS)

Bombsquad Sam is back in this reboot of the Tapstr series. This time, he takes to the skies and defeats mutated bombs that have spent a long time training in the gym. This app is currently in development but will be shipped during Fall 2016.

8-Bit SlapJack(iOS)

Need an idea for a fun game to play on a long road trip? Give 8-Bit SlapJack a try! This game is modeled after the well-known game SlapJack and can accomodate a maximum of two players. Available on the Appstore.

Open Source

Most of my open source projects are mini ideas including games and even a Pokemon tracking app

PokeSpawn for Pokemon Go

This app allows users to drop markers on a map indicating a pokemon that they have caught. Users can also search for pokemon in the area.

Piano

This app was developed for the Friends of Children with Special Needs organization (FCSN). It features two modes: free-play and follow-along. Players can also change the tempo that they want the song to be played in.

SeatUp

SeatUp is an app that I developed with David Sohng at Outside Hacks 2016. The problem that we aimed to solve was the height discrepancy at concerts. In SeatUp, we have people organized by their height and group-status so that shorter individuals can better enjoy the concert experience.

Working Experience

Geeni

Geeni is an on-demand tutoring app that seeks to find tutors for students in various subject areas. We plan to launch Fall of 2016.

CodeBros

CodeBros is composed of a small group of student developers working under the Friends of Children with Special Needs(FCSN) organization. Our mission is to build applications that are extremely intuitive and engaging for students with special needs.
